Two Men Die of Cardiac Arrest After Waiting in Bank Queue

A 69-year-old man died of cardiac arrest after standing in a queue outside a bank in Gujarat’s Limbdi town on Sunday.

Masukh Darji was waiting outside a Bank of India branch to exchange demonetised currency notes, when he collapsed unconscious on the ground. Darji was then rushed to a local hospital, where he died after receiving initial treatment.

Meanwhile, another elderly man died of a heart attack after standing in gruelling queues outside a bank in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar town.

Serpentine queues, frustrated customers and cashless ATMs – such has been the fallout of PM Narendra Modi’s decision to scrap old currency notes. Although some remain mindful of the larger cause, many have questioned the manner in which the move is being executed.
