3. MJ Akbar Accused of Rape, Issues Statement Saying It Was 'Consensual'
After multiple women accused MJ Akbar of sexual harassment, the former Minister of State for External Affairs is now accused of rape by a US-based journalist Pallavi Gogoi.
Gogoi, who worked with Akbar at The Asian Age in the 1990s, wrote a piece for The Washington Post accusing Akbar of rape and violence.
MJ Akbar on Friday, 2 November, issued a statement and said that their relationship was mutual and "perhaps" it didn't end on a good note.
