A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President-elect Rahul Gandhi wrapped up campaigning in Gujarat for the high-stakes Assembly elections in the state, Congress and BJP leaders alike came together to pay homage to martyrs of the 2001 Parliament attack.

2. In Stats: Records Broken by Rohit Sharma During His 3rd Double Ton

Rohit Sharma has once again created history. He already owned the rare record of being the only international cricketer to score two ODI double centuries, but on Wednesday, in Mohali, Rohit etched out a special place for himself in history by becoming the first-ever cricketer to score three double centuries.

Using just 151 deliveries to get to the 200-run mark, captain Rohit guided his team to a mammoth 392 in 50 overs against the hapless Sri Lankans. The very same team that had humiliated India in Mohali just three days back.

3. Rampal’s Kin on Life 16 Years After He Was Martyred in Parliament Attack

On 13 December 2001, the Parliament was attacked by Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, in what is labelled one of the biggest attacks on Indian soil till date.

Six Delhi police personnel, two Parliament security service personnel and a gardner lost their life in the attack, when the ‘temple of Indian democracy’ turned into a battleground.

Among them was sub-inspector of Delhi Police, Rampal, who was the driver of then Vice President of India, Krishan Kant.

4. Explained: The Tale of Madhu Koda and the Coal Mining Scam

A special CBI court on Wednesday, 13 December, convicted former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda in a coal allocation and mining scam. Apart from Koda, the court held former coal secretary HC Gupta, former Jharkhand chief secretary Ashok Kumar Basu and one other guilty of criminal conspiracy.

The Delhi court will pronounce the sentencing and quantum of punishment for the convicts on 14 December.

Lucknow girl and Delhi-based wedding planner Devika Narain and her award-winning photographer husband Joseph Radhik were the faces behind the high-profile wedding of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma on 11 December in Italy. While Narain designed the wedding, her husband Joseph Radhik with his team from 'Stories by Joseph Radhik' were behind the lens at the Virushka wedding.

Both Narain and Radhik got married themselves earlier this year in February.

6. After Tell-All Biography, Nawazuddin Siddiqui Fears the Truth

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s bated biography, An Ordinary Life, may have quite outlived its ‘ordinary’ sheen, but the Bollywood actor now blames it all on his unbridled ‘inner-Manto.’ To the uninitiated, Siddiqui plays the role of cherished author and playwright, Sadat Hasan Manto, in an upcoming Nandita Das short.

There’s only so much that one’s inner Manto can brave, laments Siddiqui. After his former girlfriend Niharika Singh alleged that his book was littered with “extraordinary lies,” Siddiqui says he is now wary of telling the truth.
