The wife and mother of former Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav were heckled by the Pakistani media after meeting him, as they hurled insensitive comments at them, asking “how does it feel to meet your son who is a killer?”

Aapke patidev ne hazaron begunah Pakistaniyo ke khoon se Holi kheli, ispar kya kahengi? (Your husband killed thousands of Pakistanis, what do you have to say on that?)

In the distance, the journalists can be heard screaming:

Kaisa lag raha hai aapko apney khooni betay se mil kar? (How do you feel after meeting your killer son?)

Some can even be heard asking if the family would thank Pakistan for letting them meet Jadhav on humanitarian grounds.

Pak Journalists Condemn Heckling

Pakistani journalists tweeted out condemning the abhorrent behaviour of his colleagues with Jadhav’s family.

The MEA spokesperson in his media briefing said that the Pakistani “media was allowed to approach the family closely, harass and heckle them”, even after an agreement that the media was not to be allowed close access.

The manner in which Pakistan conducted the meeting on Monday violated the letter and spirit of understandings that the two countries had.

The “cultural and religious sensibilities of family” was disregarded citing “security precautions”, as they were asked to remove their bangles, bindi and mangalsutra and they were asked to change their clothes before meeting Jadhav. His wife’s shoes were also not returned to her after the meeting.

He said that the family members handled the meeting “with great courage”.
