A distinguished audience gathered at the the historic Chetwode Drill Square in the Indian Military Academy for the passing out parade for spring term 2018. Among the audience were distinguished army personnel, IMA staff, proud parents and finally, the 457 gentlemen cadets.

Once these cadets would step on the drill squares in front of IMA's historic Chetwood Building, they would have graduated into young officers. For 383 of them, they would be a part of the Indian Army, while the other 74 gentlemen cadets are from seven friendly foreign nations such as Nepal, Maldives and Afghanistan.

Nepalese Army Chief General Rajendra Chhetri was the reviewing officer for the passing-out parade.

Leadership at your level is quite simple. Lead from the front and by example. A young officer is expected to do, himself, what he wants done from those who follow him, to and back, from the gates of death.

Once the parade ended, began the celebrations. Experiencing the joy of years of hard work coming to fruition, the young officers celebrated with full zest. Helicopters graced the occasion, showering rose petals over the young officers as the celebrations continued.
