As Strike Goes On, Another Doctor Alleges Attack at Sion Hospital

The incident allegedly took place despite the ongoing protest by doctors to their safety and security in hospitals.

Another doctor at Sion hospital was allegedly beaten by the patient’s family for providing wrong treatment. Senior medical officer Dr Mansi Patil said, “When security tried to control the patient’s mother, she hit me on my hand. She told security that they will also beaten if they try to control her.”

4,000 doctors went on a strike last week demanding CCTV cameras and security guards in the hospital after four incidents of attacks on doctors. The recent attack took place despite the Maharashtra government appealing to doctors to end their protest.
