Even as unrest continues to escalate in Delhi University’s North Campus, politicians from across the spectrum remain divided over what constitutes nationalism. For Union Minister Venkiah Naidu, Gurmehar Kaur’s idea of her father’s death needs some serious reckoning. According to news agency ANI, Naidu on Tuesday remarked that “Some children are being misled” and those behind this must speak their mind on her father’s sacrifice.

Responding to Naidu’s allegations, CPI leader D Raja asked if he could explain the kind of threats that Kaur received. His colleague and party leader Sitaram Yechury accused BJP of advancing its Hindutva agenda.
