Newly-elected President of the Congress Party, Rahul Gandhi, on Monday, lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not focussing on the state of Gujarat during his speeches. While addressing a rally at Banaskantha, he said “Now Modiji speaks about Afghanistan, China, Pakistan, and Japan. Modiji, this is the election about the future of Gujarat. Please talk about Gujarat also.”

Gandhi who took over the Congress party from his mother, Sonia Gandhi criticised the Prime Minister for dedicating his recent speeches to the Congress and to himself.

The past 2-3 days, Modiji has stopped everything. His speeches are only focussed on two subjects. On one hand he is claiming that he has finished the Congress party from India and on the other he devotes half of his time to Congress. The other half of his speech is devoted to Narendra Modiji himself.

Targeting PM Narendra Modi, he said that Modi’s economic model in poll-bound Gujarat has helped only a few industrialists and not the poor sections of the society. He accused the BJP of stealing water and electricity from the people and lending it to the Tata Nano factories.

I will reveal the truth that PM Modi won’t. Congress party invested Rs 33,000 crore in MNREGA that made a difference to crores of people. India’s economic condition grew rapidly. The same amount of money was invested in the Tata Nano project by the Modi government. Have you seen even one Tata Nano on Gujarat’s roads? Your water, land and electricity have been stolen. You don’t get water here everyday. But there is water available in Tata Nano factories.

Rahul Gandhi will be the sixth member and fifth-generation leader of the Nehru-Gandhi clan to occupy the post. The other members from his family who held the same post include Motilal Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and now Rahul Gandhi.
