A 35-year-old woman was picked up from Gurugram and allegedly gangraped by a group of men in a moving car on Monday night.
The woman was abducted from near her house in Sohna area of Gurugram around 8.30 pm by three men in a Swift car. She was repeatedly raped in the moving car for several hours and thrown off the vehicle near the Kasna area in Greater Noida on Tuesday morning, a senior police officer said.
According to an India Today report, a passerby spotted her lying on the roadside and alerted the police who reached the spot and informed Haryana police as well.
The woman is a resident of Bharatpur in Rajasthan and had come to Sohna in Gurugram some ten days ago.
Gautam Budh Nagar SSP Love Kumar said that she had been sent for medical examination and the CCTV footage of major roads in the NCR region is being looked at along with other details provided to them by the woman.
Her condition is said to be stable and no FIR has been filed in the case yet.
Greater Noida and Gurugram police are jointly investigating the crime, a police official said.
This comes a day after a seven-year-old was brutally raped by a 20-year-old auto-rickshaw driver in Gurugram’s Dundahera village. The accused was arrested on Tuesday after a 6-hour operation.
