The Indian Air Force marked its 86th anniversary on Monday, 8 October. A grand flypast was held at the Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad to mark the occasion. Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa was present at the ceremony.
The President of India, Ramnath Kovind tweeted his felicitations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi also honoured the air force in their tweets.
Jaguar, Bison, MiG-29, Mirage-2000 and SU-30 MKI fighter jets were part of the grand ceremony, according to NDTV. The event also displayed a vintage Dakota aircraft that had served the air force for over four decades.
