The fourth International Yoga Day was celebrated with vigour all across India on Thursday, 21 June.
Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel did yoga at a height of 18,953 feet in Ladakh and also performed ‘river yoga’ in Arunachal Pradesh.
Indian Navy Personnel joined in onboard the INS Viraat in Mumbai while the Eastern Naval Command did so from INS Jyothi in Bay of Bengal off Visakhapatnam.
Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a stunning sand sculpture in Puri, Odisha to commemorate the day.
New Delhi was not to be left behind, and many participated in the gatherings held there, including the US and French embassies.
In Lucknow, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath joined in, while Union Minister Piyush Goyal took part in the celebrations in Noida.
In Moradabad, a unique type of ‘swimming yoga’ event was witnessed.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis were a part of the celebrations in Mumbai.
Priests from Guwahati’s Kamakhya temple also marked the day by doing yoga. In Kota, Rajasthan, Baba Ramdev led the celebration with Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje in attendance. The total attendance of at least 1.5 lakh created a Guinness World Record.
The gathering in Ranchi saw Union Minister MA Naqvi’s doing yoga while Union Minister Suresh Prabhu was seen in Chennai.
Union Minister Smriti Irani joined BJP MP Kirron Kher for the festivities in Chandigarh.
