Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Xiamen, China, where he is scheduled to attend the Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa (BRICS) Summit. The ninth BRICS Summit, themed ‘stronger partnership for a brighter future’, will conclude on 5 September.
The summit will be the first BRICS gathering after New Delhi and Beijing decided on an “expeditious disengagement” of their border troops in the disputed Doklam area on 28 August.
After China, PM Modi will travel to Myanmar for a three-day visit.
