Chandigarh stalking victim Varnika Kundu, speaking exclusively to The Quint about the district court’s decision on accused Vikas Barala’s bail plea, said she was glad that the plea was rejected and welcomed the decision.
Kundu had allegedly been stalked by Barala and his friend Ashish Kumar, who chased her car in an SUV for a distance of about 6 km before finally stopping the car, banging on her window and trying to open the door. Barala was later identified as the son of BJP Haryana Chief Subhash Barala.
Barala and Kumar’s bail plea was dismissed by a Chandigarh District court on Tuesday afternoon. The two will remain in jail and will have to wait to file a fresh appeal in a higher court.
