The Consumer Electronics arrived in Las Vegas, the city of gambling & bright lights. The CES attracts thousands of tech companies, journalists and technology lovers each year. And many small and large companies unveil their products for the public at this show.
This year some major players in the smartphone industry have launched their new mobile phones.
ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih launched the Zenfone3 Zoom and the Zenfone AR at the ASUS presentation event at CES in Las Vegas.
Zenfone3 Zoom sports Snapdragon 625 chipset with a 5,000 man battery with a standby time of‘40 days’. The phone has a dual 12 megapixel camera setup at the back, which includes a wide angle lens and a 2.3x optical zoom lens, and a 13-megapixel, wide angle front camera for selfies. The phone is capable of 4k video recording and comes in three colours– rose gold, silver and navy black.
The Phone will be available in the market in February 2017.
ASUS also unveiled its much awaited Zenfone AR which blends virtual and augmented reality. ASUS boasts that the Zenfone AR is the world’s first 5.7 inch tango enabled and daydream-ready smartphone.
The Zenfone AR has 8 GB of RAM which enables the users to "do more, play more and explore more” in VR. The phone supports a tri-camera system with one 23 megapixel camera for clicking pics, second camera for motion tracking, and a third camera for depth perception. The ZenUI VR 360 app will allow people to explore and share their memories in 360 degree technology.
The Zenfone AR will be available in the second half of 2017.
Honor, the sub brand of the Chinese smartphone giant’s Huwaei’s, also launched its smartphone Honor 6x. Honor 6x was already available in Asia since October but now will be available in North America and Europe.
The handset has 32 GB of internal storage with an SD card slot for additional storage and 3GB of RAM. It has a dual SIM card slots and 3340 mAH battery.
It is expected to cost around $249 in the North America and €249 in Europe .The 5.5 inch smartphone has a metal body, a fingerprint scanner, a dual camera system, which includes a 12 megapixel and a 2 megapixel camera at the back, and a 8 megapixel front facing selfie camera.
The CES 2017 show is open to the public from 5 January to 8 January in Las Vegas.
