Caught On Cam: a minor being thrashed for allegedly rejecting the marriage proposal of a local goon in South Delhi.

CCTV footage captured a 17-year-old girl being mecilessly beaten up by a local criminal for allegedly rejecting his marriage proposal, in a mobile store in South Delhi on 30 June.

According to Mirror Now, the accused has been reportedly taken into judicial custody under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act and a few other sections of the IPC.

The POCSO act was established in 2012 to protect children against sexual offences, sexual harassment and pornography. The act defines a child as any person who is below the age of eighteen.

Mirror Now reported that the accused had approached the girl several times asking her to be in a relationship with him, and would even stalk her continuously but the girl rejected his proposal. On 30 June, he found her on the street and asked her to marry him which she allegedly said no to. Following the rejection, he began to thrash her. In order to escape, she ran into the shop but the thrashing did not stop. In the video, she is heard pleading with him to stop but in vain.
