‘Right to Life and Free Speech Curtailed’
Attacking the PDP government over killing of senior journalist and Rising Kashmir Editor Shujaat Bukhari in broad daylight, the BJP blamed the threat to freedom of speech of citizens in the state for dumping PDP.
Radicalisation in the state is on the rise. Fundamental rights of the citizens, which include right to life and right to free speech, is under threat in the Valley. Senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari was shot dead in Srinagar in broad daylight. This is an indication of the gravity of the situation. Press freedom and freedom of speech are under threat.

‘Rise In Terror Activities in the State’
BJP’s Ram Madhav teared into the Mufti government for the rise in terror activities and radicalisation in the valley.
The situation in the state is worrisome. Terror activities in the state are on the rise. After the killing of Shujjat Bukhari, there was noquestion of considering extending suspension of operations. If terrorists can walk into Srinagar and kill Shujaat Bukhari in broad daylight in a VIP area called Press Enclave, it is obvious that we’d not ask to extend suspension of operations.

‘Mufti Failed to Control J&K Situation Despite Centre’s Help’
Ram Madhav then attacked former ally PDP of failing to improve the situation in the state.
Centre provided necessary aid for development in the state. To improve the security situation in the state, all help was provided to the state government by Home Minister Rajnath Singh and the home ministry. Although we were a part of the government, the primary leaders in the alliance failed to control the situation in the state. We are not questioning their intentions, but they failed to bring the situation under control.

‘Vikas At A Standstill’
Ram Madhav alleged that development in the state, especially in Jammu and Ladakh was at a standstill for the last three years, despite Centre’s help.
Our ministers had to face hurdles while working towards development in Jammu and Ladakh. In the ministries that were under our MLAs we tried to bring in development. But since the BJP was in a coalition govt, as far asdevelopment in several sectors is concerned, the people of Jammu and Ladakh had to face difficulties and discrimination.

‘Governor’s Rule Now The Best Option’
BJP claimed that governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir is the best option to improve the situation in the state.
Keeping in mind the larger national interest of India’s integrity and security, keeping in mind that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and in order to control the situation prevailing in the state, we have decided that it is time that the power in the state be handed over to the Governor.
