Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Wednesday alleged that the BJP had promised to ensure “ease of doing business” in Gujarat but in reality had created “ease of doing corruption” during its 20-year-long regime in the state. He slammed the Gujarat government for not sticking to the manifesto as had been claimed.
The former Union Minister while addressing a press meet at Rajkot criticised the Gujarat model, calling it an ‘exaggeration.’
“Gujarat is lagging behind on every parameter, be it unemployment, issues of farmers, economic slowdown or even the worries of the middle class. But, the Gujarat model is often portrayed as the best model. Despite that, BJP accuses Congress of playing caste-based politics,” he says.
Pilot further questioned the resignation of Anandiben Patel from the Chief Minister’s post and emphasised that CM Vijay Rupani was playing the role of a scapegoat for the BJP top brass, PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.
Sachin Pilot is currently the President of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee.
