After the recent incident of sexual harassment at the Banaras Hindu University, female medical students of the university started getting themselves trained in self-defense.

The girls felt there was a common misconception in people’s minds which allows them to believe that women are the weaker sex and are incapable of defending themselves. Through self-defense and developing physical and mental strength, these women are sending a message that they will not spare anyone who comes in their way.

The BHU authorities are also supporting this effort, claim students.
