Thirty-one-year-old software engineer from Bengaluru, Kumar Ajitabh has been missing since December 2017. Ajitabh had gone to meet a buyer who had contacted him through OLX but didn’t return home. His car could not be traced as well. Seven months have passed but the Karnataka CID has not made any headway. Ajitabh’s family, is therefore, now demanding CBI probe and appealing people for help.

Ajitabh was planning to take admission at IIM Kolkata and wanted to raise money for education by selling his car. His family has been running a campaign requesting people to send leads in case they see anyone resembling Ajitabh.
In a video message sent to The Quint, Ajitabh’s elder sister, Pragya Sinha shared how it has been a difficult time for the entire family:
The incident also highlights the need for background check of users on online portals that provide a platform for various transactions. For Ajitabh’s family, a probe by the country’s premier investigating agency is the last ray of hope.
