As they attempted to cross the railway tracks at Pilkhuwa railway station in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh, a speeding train killed 6 people and left 1 critically injured. The accident occurred when the group were coming back from the work and tried to take a shortcut by crossing the train tracks when the train hit them.
Police have taken all the bodies into their custody and the injured boy is battling for his life. The incident happened on Sunday night and police has registered a case in the matter.
According to the data revealed by National Crime Records Bureau, 29,419 railway accidents have caused injuries to 4,055 persons and killed 26,066. Maharashtra followed by Uttar Pradesh has highest fatalities in railways accidents.
