Nine coaches of the Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express derailed near Titwala early on 29 August. Ashwin Lohani, Chairman of the Railway Board, told news agency ANI that the train may have derailed due to “a sudden landslide,” caused by incessant rains.

According to the Railways, no casualties have been reported so far. Emergency rescue teams have been pressed into service. Lohani added that 35 buses have been dispatched to the accident site.
