‘Cartist Yatra’ is a travelling exhibition of painted cars, auto-rickshaws, and two-wheelers, which brings together artists from different parts of India to showcase their talent on automobiles.

The annual exhibition is an attempt to combine automobiles with contemporary art. In the Kochi leg of the event, artists depicted Kerala’s culture through their artwork.

The yatra will be held from December 2017 to February 2018, covering 9,100 km across 10 cities. The festival is an opportunity for over 1,000 artist to showcase their talent.

“For me, it is a very great opportunity since one gets to work with artists from different states of India,” said Rahul, a finance student.

Around 200 artists will be selected for the Cartist Automobile Art Festival to be held in Jaipur next year.

The yatra has already covered Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.
