Mumbaikars assembled at different beaches in the city to help clear the trash that had accumulated post Ganesh Visarjan. The beaches were swathed with trash that had to be cleared at the earliest. Several volunteers landed up in the morning at Juhu beach, including a group of enterprising college students, who’d been working since 4 am to ensure that the beach was clean.
Actor Amit Sadh also joined them and lent his support. “It’s amazing how these kids and volunteers have cleaned up the beach. They came early in the morning and it’s absolutely spotless now. But they can’t do this all the time, we as people need to become more conscious and take care of our environment, till then nothing will change,” he said.
