Movie: The Angry Birds Movie
Director: Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly
The Angry Birds Movie is based on the popular mobile game which most of us have played at some point. Now they have made it into a film, which I think is quiet cool as a concept. The Angry Birds look cute, they light up the frame with their bright colours.
The story is based on an island which has flightless birds. I’m sure you know the three main characters, Red (Jason Sudeikis) who has huge anger issues, Chuck (Josh Gad) and Bomb (Danny McBride) are his partners in crime!
One day, a group of green
pigs make their way to the island. Red who doesn’t like anyone obviously
doesn’t like the pigs. What the pigs do is not-so-cool, they sweet talk the birds and
make them believe that they are friendly and then they steal their eggs! So the Angry Birds gang will seek revenge and destroy the pigs.
There is no doubt that the film is easy on the eye, it’s cute but there is no depth in this story, there is hardly a story to start with. So how long can you watch these Angry Birds dancing around in front of you? The film has a message about anger, but we already saw that last year in Inside Out .
The voices are good and so is the animation. The film is watchable but just an average affair. May be it’s for crazy Angry Birds fans, if there are any out there!
