Match That Sh*t! Watch Quentin Tarantino’s Retirement Challenge
The popular American director said he intends to make only two more films.

Popular Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino was the star attraction on day two of Adobe MAX, the company's annual creativity conference in San Diego this year.
In a 20-minute onstage interview, Tarantino reiterated that he intends to make only two more feature films. The crowd comprising of 11,000 creative professionals from all over the world sighed in despair at his response. “Drop the mic. Boom. Tell everybody, ‘Match that’,” he said, confirming his retirement.
The filmmaker also told the audience that he is focusing on his next, based in the year 1970, which is a historical non-fiction project at the moment. “It could be a book, a documentary or a five-part podcast,” he added.
He also elaborated on his creative process and on the focus he gives to writing. The two things he chooses to work on before deciding on amplifying an idea to an entire feature film are the song hook for the soundtrack and fancy opening credits sequence.
If he can visualise and audiolise these two for an idea, then his mind gets to work.
Tarantino also shared what success means to him.
“Hopefully, the way I define success is when I'm finished with the career, I'm considered one of the greatest filmmakers who ever lived. That would be successful. And then to go further than that, I would be considered a great artist and not just a film director,” he said.
