We are all gearing up to see Kalki Koechlin and Surveen Chawla in Sacred Games season 2. While there is a lot of excitement around Kalki’s character since it is new, we will also get to see Surveen Chawla’s past in the upcoming season. She was seen in the first shot of Season 1. Kalki and Surveen give a glimpse about their characters and play a fun game in this video:
(To Surveen) You were in season 1 and then you are in season 2.
I was in the first shot of the first scene of the first episode of the season. Well, the fact that it’s going to propel the story forward in ways that you can’t imagine is good enough difference from season 1 to 2, and of course, after the response we have had on season 1. There are expectations. I feel the pressure personally.
Yeah, I do for sure. All of us feel the pressure and we are hoping it is welcomed and accepted and we live up to those expectations.
(To Kalki) So, it’s your first season, but I’ve read that you’re also a big fan of the series. What was your experience like?
Yeah, I saw the first season in like two nights. So, when I got auditioned for this, then I was really excited. My character’s origin is her father’s Jewish and her mother is Palestinian. She is born in France and she goes and finds this ashram where Guruji is her sort of guru and all that combination gives you a little bit of a challenge to pull it off in the accent and nobody can tell you what to do.
Season two of Netflix India’s popular series Sacred Games drops online on 15 August. It is an adaptation of Vikram Chandra’s book by the same name. This first Indian Netflix Original show was loved by the audience for it’s bold story telling and unforgettable characters. The new season promises to be bigger and better with Saif Ali Khan as Sartaj Singh and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Ganesh Gaitonde returning along with Kalki Koechlin, Ranvir Shorey and Pankaj Tripathi. This time round, while Anurag Kashyap continues to shoot the track involving Gaitonde, Masaan’s director, Neeraj Ghaywan, has stepped in to direct Sartaj Singh’s track, while Vikramaditya Motwane has become the showrunner of the series.
