National Army Day was celebrated with traditional fervour. It started with a wreath-laying ceremony organised at Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate on Friday.

A total of 17 officers, junior commissioned officers (JCOs) and soldiers including one war widow were presented with gallantry and distinguished awards at the Army Parade ground near Dhaula Kuan, Delhi.

PM Modi extended his salute to the army jawans on Twitter.
