As Telangana heads to polls, women are likely to play the king and queen-makers in at least 15 of the 31 districts. But do our lawmakers know the issues that are affecting women? Are they heard? Do they even make it to the manifesto?
The Quint and Facebook have launched ‘Me, The Change,’ a campaign that discusses all these issues that concern the first-time women voters across India.
As a part of this campaign, we spoke to a group of students outside Hyderbad Central University in Telangana. They raised various topics including women’s safety, caste and gender-based reservation, better health facilities, governmental support from enrolling in schools to completing higher education, as issues that matter to them and would influence their ballot.
