The Quint caught up with Bhojpuri superstar Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirahua' on his campaign trail. As the BJP's candidate from Azamgarh, Nirahua will contest against Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
On being asked if he thinks his entry in politics is going to be successful, Nirahua said, "I fight those doing politics in the name of caste. Gathbandhan is made to stop an honest prime minister."
Asked about on his political debut and whether he had nerves, he replied that Akhilesh Yadav is nervous. But their relationship hasn't always been that of political rivals. Why after calling Akhilesh his "big brother," is Nirahua contesting elections against him? Nirahua replied, "I don't agree with Akhilesh's views. Democracy is being mocked."
23 May will decide if Dinesh Lal Yadav will become 'Nirahua Sansadwala.'
