Abdullah Invokes Vajpayee, Toes Congress’ Line on Surgical Strikes

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Thursday made a veiled dig at the Narendra Modi government as he slammed the alleged politicisation of India's surgical strikes. Abdullah reiterated the stand of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi that politicians are ‘trading soldiers’ blood for electoral victory’.
Abdullah also advised Modi government to take forward the dialogue with Pakistan as he quoted former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee:
The former Jammu & Kashmir chief minister's comments came on a day when he strongly criticised the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) - BJP alliance on his visit to the border villages of Sabjian and Chandak.
The veteran NC leader also alleged that the PDP had lied about being opposed to the BJP to gain seats in South Kashmir, calling them "divisive forces who have miserably failed to govern."
