“Eve-Teaser” Thrashed by Victims in Utkal University Premises

A person was detained by Saheed Nagar police for allegedly passing lewd comments to a girl student of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

According to reports, Vinod Kumar Sahu (50), a tutor by profession and resident of Laxmi Vihar in Bhubaneswar, passed offensive comments to a girl student of the varsity near SBI ATM inside the university campus when she was returning to the ladies’ hostel in the evening.

The girl phoned her friends and informed them about the incident. By the time her friends reached the spot, Vinod had fled. They looked for Vinod inside the campus and spotted him near VSS Nagar gate. The irate girls thrashed him with a bamboo stick and informed police about the incident.

A PCR van rushed to the spot and Vinod was taken to Saheed Nagar police station where he was detained for interrogation.

The girl, Pratikshya Acharya, later shared a long post on Facebook regarding the matter and mentioned how she and her friend Arpita Aparajita Badajena and tackled the situation.
