“It’s working out very nicely... we should have had it in this country for many years,” said Donald Trump.

On 28 January, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order banning travel from seven countries to the US. The countries include Iraq, Iran, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya and Yemen.

The executive order cites the 9/11 attack right at the beginning as the reason for the ban. It says the attack was caused by the "visa-issuance process".

Of the 19 foreign nationals who led the attack, most were from Saudi Arabia, but strangely it does not appear on the list of banned countries. While thousands of people were left stranded at airports all across the US in the wake of the implementation of this ban, Donald Trump said:

This is not about religion – this is about terror and keeping our country safe... To be clear, this is not a Muslim ban, as the media is falsely reporting... It’s working out very nicely and we are going to have a very, very strict ban and we are going to have extreme vetting, which we should have had in this country for many years.
