Pragya Thakur, BJP candidate from Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal, has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. First, BJP giving a ticket to her, as a terror-accused, sparked a huge controversy. How can the PM of India defend a terror accused? Then, she said in a statement that 2008 Mumbai attack martyr and chief of the Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad died because she cursed him. The EC served her a notice for violating the Model Code of Conduct. But that doesn't seem to deter her. She later withdrew her statement and apologised, because of the joy her words might cause the enemies of the nation.

Which brings us to today, where she commented on the Babri Masjid demolition, by saying that she was among the people who demolished the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya on 6 December 1992 and that she is "proud" of it. EC has served her a notice for that too! But will a notice from the EC have any effect on her? Should stricter action be taken?
