A lucky goat has been saved from the deadly clutches of a python – thanks to a stick wielding bystander.

The giant python was captured on camera wrapping itself around the goat, who was desperately trying to free itself.

The shocking footage alarmed villagers in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, India, who feared the snake could harm their children.

Estimated to be around 10ft long, the snake can be seen strangling the helpless goat – before a local villager prods it with a stick to help free the goat.
