A team of doctors have successfully removed 40 knives from a man’s stomach in Amritsar, on Saturday, after five hours of surgery. Surjeet Singh, a policeman, required five hours of surgery to remove the knives, which he said he had felt an ‘urge’ to eat.
Singh went to the hospital complaining of stomach ache and excessive weight loss. An ultrasound revealed the solid mass in his stomach and a biopsy showed dozens of the sharp knives inside him. Dr Jitendra Malhotra, who carried out the surgery with a team of four doctors, said the case was unlike anything he had witnessed in his career.(Inputs: Ruptly TV)
