Couture is passion and patience; it is endless labour. Couture is detailing – patterns, embroideries, painfully strewn, piece by piece, thread by thread. Couture is inspired design: it is the designers’ vision brought to life. It isn’t simply heavy clothes, it is much more. It is wearable art to some, a mindless indulgence to others.

But from all the applause that awestruck audiences and onlookers shower on these clothes, their wearer and everyone who has put them together, all we can say is that couture is ... glory. The Quint presents to you all that the word connotes.
