As actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha gear up for their upcoming release Dream Girl, The Quint met up with the actors for a quick chat about the film and everything that went into making it.
Ayushmann Khurrana is currently riding high on his National Award win. Talking about how such a prestigious award has affected his life, he said:
In many ways, Dream Girl will be a game changer for Nushrat Bharucha, who, for the longest time, was known for her work in Pyaar Ka Punchnama. Ayushmann told The Quint that this is the first time Nushrat will be playing a “conventional heroine.”
Nushrat also spoke about how she reacted when she first saw Ayushmann in a female avatar.
“I didn't recognise him as Ayushmann only. Because all the dancers and us, we all had a theme of Radha and Krishna. So I'm expecting him to come as Krishna because I have become Radha. And then I see one Radha walking so I said it must be one of the dancers. And when he turns around, I'm like, what? And then he has an entourage of people and everybody says that's Ayushmann. He looked beautiful.”
Dream Girl is directed by Raaj Shandilya. It hits theatres on 13 September. It also stars Vijay Raaz, Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Abhishek Bannerjee, Rajesh Sharma, among others. For more, watch the video!
