Indian army conducts a massive eye check-up for civilians at Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir. Close to 600 people availed of these services by specialised doctors.
The initiative was conducted in an effort to connect to people in the military-controlled valley. Patients who visited the camp expressed gratitude for the services and the facilities. While Jammu and Kashmir is facing widespread condemnation for using pellet guns, a move like this might help the army turn over a new leaf.
