Anuradha Beniwal Backs Singer Sapna Chaudhary Facing Rape Threats

Sapna had apologised for a song that allegedly hurt the sentiments of a certain caste, but now faces rape threats.

National chess champion Anuradha Beniwal/Saroj (who had famously spoken out against the violent turn that the Jat Reservation agitation had taken almost a year ago) has now spoken out against those targeting Sapna Chaudhary, the Ragini singer from Haryana. And needless to add, her bold stand has ensured that the post goes viral.

Using sarcasm as her medium, Anuradha has launched a frontal attack on the double standards in a male-dominated society that often erects barricades around a woman.

Anuradha’s assault on the injustices heaped on a girl in a prudish society has been relentless.

Recently she posted a direct note telling people that if they think a woman’s clothing is provocative, the problem is with their mentality. Asking the society to grow up, in a post on Facebook, Anuradha wrote:

Sapna Chaudhary, the Ragini singer attempted suicide a week ago after lewd posts tarnishing her image appeared on social media websites.

Her six-page long letter accused a local Dalit leader in Gurgaon of misusing anti Dalit-Atrocity Act to lodge FIRs against her for a song that she has already issued apologies.
