Fleeing ISIS Faces Fire From Skies as Iraq Retakes Fallujah

Iraq’s Ministry of Defence released footage on Wednesday which it said showed an airstrike on an Islamic State (IS) group convoy attempting to flee the city of Fallujah.

The convoy was spotted west of Amiriyah al-Fallujah, according to the ministry.

It said it killed hundreds of IS militants and destroyed vehicles loaded with weapons.

Air force commander Lieutenant General Hamid al-Maliki said the convoy consisted of 700 vehicles.

Iraqi forces have retaken the key city of Fallujah, west of Baghdad, which had been under IS control for over two years.
