African Students Stage Protest in Hyd, Allege Assault by Locals

African students in Hyderabad held protests, on Saturday, demanding action against a group of locals who allegedly assaulted three of them.

The incident, which took place two days ago, has been dismissed by the Hyderabad Police as a “minor brawl” over a road accident.

This comes at a time when there are widespread protests in Bengaluru over the alleged assault and stripping of a Tanzanian woman student by a mob.

One of the Nigerian students said the incident had occurred in Hakimpet area when some local men passed ‘racist’ comments as he was returning home from a religious place.
