Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar met a group of African students who raised their concerns over a host of issues including better security in the wake of the killing of Congolese national Masonda Ketada Olivier and cases of assaults against the community.
Also Ministry of External Affairs official met the deceased Congolese national’s family in New Delhi on Monday, and assured them of a speedy trial in the case.
23-year-old Congolese national Oliver, who was a French teacher at a private institute, was beaten to death in Vasant Kunj area of South Delhi following a brawl over hiring of an auto-rickshaw on 20 May.
