This Valentine’s Day, we are celebrating love that dares to blossom beyond the limitations of gender, religion, and age. We met Sultana Abdullah, a former air hostess, who refuses to submit to societal inhibitions at 60, and is looking for a romantic man to be her husband.
Last week, she proudly invited proposals from prospective dates, saying her ideal man is someone who has “seen the ups and downs of life, and has emerged positive and interesting.”
A lot of you played cupid, with your numerous comments on Facebook and Twitter and emails and messages.
Sultana, who claims to belong to an analog world, was in for a surprise when we showed her the countless words of encouragement that her video garnered.
While her quest for love made us think of the difficulties single men and women can face in their 50s and 60s to meet and date, Sultana hopes her video will encourage women to look for partners with confidence at any age.
Thank you for supporting Sultana and treat her age as “just a number” – which is all that it really is.
