From romance to comedy, Amitabh Bachchan has done it all. Generations of stars have bowed out, but Bachchan goes on. As Big B completes 50 years in Bollywood, here are some interesting facts about him presented exclusively in numbers!

1. Hema Malini Is Amitabh Bachchan’s Most Frequent Co-Star

Even though he has given his biggest hits with Rakhee, Amitabh has acted with Hema Malini, the highest number of times. Including Baghban, Veer Zaara they have acted together in 16 films.

2. Do You Know Bachchan's Most Popular Character Name?

The one thing common in Agneepath, Zanjeer and Deewaar have in common, apart from Bachchan’s magnetic screen presence, is the name Vijay. In a total of 21 movies, Amitabh was given this name. Vijay was closely followed by the shortened version of his own name, Amit, which was used 9 times.

3. Guess How Many Times Nirupa Roy Played the Big B’s Mother?

Nirupa Roy became the face of Amitabh Bachchan’s mother in most of his films. 11 times to be exact. From Deewar to Lal Baadshaah, Nirupa donned the mother hat for 25 years.

4. A Popular Narrator, Bachchan Has Done Voiceovers for 30 Films

The voice which was once rejected by All India Radio has now featured in 30 films. Starting with Bhuvan Shome, Bachchan has lent his voice in films like Lagaan, Jodhaa Akbar, and Shatranj ke Khiladi.

5. Amitabh Has Played a Double Role in 15 Movies:

Since his first double role in Bandhe Hath, Bachchan has done double roles in 15 movies. Five of these featured him as father and the son. Amjad Khan-starrer Mahaan, featured him in a triple role, as a father and his two sons.
