A 10-year-old makhana elephant was hit by a bus near Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu on Monday. The tusker suffered multiple fractured and was transported to Madumalai National Park by the forest officials.
The reports of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) say that eight elephants have died in similar accidents since 2003. To avoid this, authorities plan to construct an eco-bridge in Krishnagiri to make it easier for animals to travel.
