Cameras in smartphones have taken precedence over all other specifications and this is evident with the kind of experiments we see in the rear camera set up like the dual, triple or quadruple cameras.
Smartphones these days are packing some incredibly advanced sensors which rival even professional cameras.
Speaking of serious hardware, we have two of the most sought after camera phone in the market. The Huawei P30 Pro and Oppo Reno 10x.
To see which smartphone offers the best camera for the price, we thought of having a camera shootout between the two. But first, a look at what each smartphone offers.
The Oppo Reno is the more economical option of the two phones, offering a triple camera setup.
It offers more switchable focal lengths options than the P30 Pro. From a wide angle mode, you can switch between 1x, 2x, 6x and 10x magnification with just a tap. During our tests, we noticed a slight lag in the image processing but that could just be the OS acting up.
At times we came across some noise and over-sharpening of images which led to a decrease in image quality. The images are more towards the cooler side however, the seem to be brighter than Huawei P30 pro.
The Huawei P30 Pro is Rs 30,000 more expensive than the Reno 10x Zoom. It was quicker than the Reno 10x Zoom in terms of taking pictures while the colours turned out to be warmer but more well-balanced than the Reno.
The images from the P30 also looked sharper without any excessive noise even under low light conditions. Although, it has less focal length than the Reno 10x. The hybrid 10x zoom on the P30 Pro gave better results than the Oppo.
We also took similar shots with the Pixel 3 XL which is known for its single camera performance, and the results were neck to neck with the P30 Pro, a slight edge goes to the Pixel for its image processing and more natural colors.
In conclusion, both the smartphones have lived up to their claims, however, the P30 Pro takes the win due to the better image processing giving a cleaner and well balanced colours. But, the Oppo Reno 10x is still holding itself as a strong contender in terms of camera performance in its price range.
