Amazon and Google have had their differences in terms of content streaming services so much so that both parties were against sharing their streaming apps on each other’s platforms. The move ensured that Amazon and Google were not hogging into the other’s benefits.

Now, Google has eased its app-sharing policy and re-released the YouTube official app on Amazon’s Fire TV Stick. YouTube was removed from Amazon’s Fire TV stick back in December 2017 after Amazon removed Google's smart home products from its online store.

Subsequently, Amazon Prime Video is back on Google Chromecast and even Android TV.

Amazon’s array of streaming devices like the Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K and even the Fire TV Edition smart TVs will receive YouTube’s official app in a week’s time. The company has said it will extend the support of the app to its other hardware in the future.

There are reports that YouTube TV and YouTube Kids will also be launched on Fire TV Stick in the days to come.

Parallel to this, Google Chromecast and supporting TVs and hardware will also get Amazon’s video content. There are also reports that Chromecast Ultra users will get access to Amazon Prime Video content at no extra cost.

Amazon is also offering voice support to launch YouTube and users can also navigate through the app using voice commands. With the YouTube official app onboard, users will be able to use Alexa to launch the app, control playback, and search YouTube for videos.
