Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 3S’ successor Redmi 4 in India with prices yet again starting from Rs 6,999. The phone will be available in three variants: 2GB RAM + 16GB storage, 3GB RAM + 32GB and 4G + 64GB.

This is the first Mi phone to be launched in matte black colour, and you get the gold option as well. The phone will be available via its first sale on 23 May.

Redmi 4 has a better design appeal compared to the Redmi 3S, with its slimmer profile that comes with improved finishing. The bezels have reduced, and it won’t be wrong to say that the Redmi 4 looks like a smaller variant of the Redmi Note 4.

The phone comes with a 5-inch HD 1280x720 pixels display – still no sign of Android Nougat on this one. In terms of power, Redmi 4 packs the Snapdragon 430 processor, with a wide array of RAM and storage options (as mentioned above).

But the two most important things that we like about the Redmi 4 is the upgraded camera unit and the big battery unit. The company claims that the Redmi 4 camera sensor is the same as that of Redmi Note 4.

And finally, the 4,100 mAh battery on a phone as small as this (even then it doesn’t feel heavy) ensures you get to use the phone for more than a day on single charge.
