Xiaomi’s back in the game! Hunting for the right smartphone these days has become tougher than scaling the Everest. The moment you narrow down on one option, your dur waale chacha recommends you another device, and you are back to square one.

However, the past couple of months have been all about Xiaomi hogging the limelight, thanks to their Redmi Note series. To be more precise, the Redmi Note 4A has been quite popular. Although their flagships have been off the radar for quite some time now, it’s about to change with Xiaomi’s latest announcement.

The Chinese company’s CEO has finally lifted the curtains off all speculations, and revealed that the next flagship from Xiaomi, the Mi 6, will be unveiled this month.

Although, no official date has been set for the release, the device is likely to be unveiled anywhere between 11 and 18 April.

What to Expect?

The new Mi 6 could be available in two variants, although there are still doubts on the size of the two. There’s a higher probability for a combination of a 5.2-inch and a 5.7-inch phone. The bigger, of course, being a Plus variant.

Apart from an impressive spec sheet that the phones are bound to bring forth, the headline grabbing feature could be the dual-camera setup on the Mi 6 Plus.

There is no clarity on the exact number of megapixels, but rumours floating around suggest that number could be anywhere around 12-megapixels to a whopping 30-megapixels.

The bigger Mi 6 could boast of QHD(2460x1440p) screen, RAM variants of 4, 6 and 8GB, storage up to 128GB, and a meaty battery pack of 4500mAh with an 8-megapixel ultra pixel sensor on the front.

Meanwhile, the smaller Mi 6 could have a Full HD(1080x1920p) display, RAM variants of 4 and 6GB, and internal storage options up to 128GB. Also, the phone is rumoured to have the same 8-megapixel front camera as the Mi 6 Plus, and a 3200mAh battery.

Just to sweeten the deal, Xiaomi could also box both these devices with the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset.

Apart from the specifications mentioned above, rumours of additional features like an Iris scanner, 4K screen and 2.5D curved glass are also floating around the web.

The Currency Game!

Pricing of the phone is a crucial factor for its success.

The Mi 6 Plus is said to sport a price tag from 2,599 Yuan to 3,499 Yuan, which is roughly Rs 24,441 to Rs 32,905 respectively.

The Mi 6, on the other hand, can be expected to be priced anywhere between 1,999 Yuan to 2,699 Yuan, which translates to around Rs 18,799 to Rs 25,382 respectively.

A detailed review of the device will soon follow as soon as it hits Indian shores.
