Xiaomi launched the Mi 6 in China, but we still can’t give you a date for its availability in India. So, before that happens, we decided to try our luck, and give you a closer look at Xiaomi’s first dual camera phone in the market. Here’s how the Mi 6 looks and what it offers.

The Mi 6 packs a 5.1-inch FullHD display with 1920x1080 pixels resolution. This isn’t a lot different from the one that Mi 5 had.

As you can see, the bezel size of the display has been neatly done, however, the bezel at the top can make the Mi 6 look outdated, especially if other brands go bezel-less this year. The fingerprint scanner has been placed on the front.

Coming to the back of the Mi 6, Xiaomi has given it a full glass treatment. This looks elegant and classy, but the apparent flimsy nature, along with being a fingerprint magnet, might not please a lot of you out there.

During our brief time with the device, we were extra careful about using the Mi 6, and most of the visuals you can see were captured after repeatedly cleaning it.

The phone is powered by Snapdragon 835 processor, with 6GB RAM and as pointed out by the company, the Mi 6 comes in 64 and 128GB storage variants.

It’s still running on MiUi version built over Android Nougat, and hopefully the Android 8 update will come out later this year. One noticeable change is the lack of 3.5mm audio jack. Yes, Xiaomi has gone by Apple’s copybook and decided it’s time to look beyond the traditional standard. Let’s hope they’re working on a quality pair of USB Type C earphone to justify it.

A recent report said that Xiaomi will not launch the Mi 6 in India. But while speaking to The Quint, Xiaomi didn’t rule out the launch. So, there maybe good news after all for all the Mi fans in the country.
